Upon being presented with a blank page or screen, most people nervously think Now what?
To them, I respond: Allow me.
It’s never easy to make something useful, interesting, beautiful or some combination thereof. (Let’s be honest, it’s next to impossible to get anyone’s attention in the first place.)
But there’s dignity, and sometimes glory, in the effort.
It’s why I relish taking nondescript creative briefs into parts unknown. Unearthing small nuggets of truth that resonate. Brainstorming big ideas with smart people. Thinking differently. Respecting the process. Producing and presenting work of consequence. And waking up excited to do it all over again the next day.
As long as there are brands out there ready to express themselves in a meaningful way, I’m ready to lend them a voice—and a pen.
